She spent $40 on coaching. Then she made $1000 in profit.
Paying for a coach is no fun, but make no mistake: It can pay off.
Recently, I spent $25 on one of Amber Petty’s awesome workshops.
I have to admit that when I clicked the “Pay” button, it hurt a little bit. Do I really need this? I wondered. Will it pay off? I’m trying to make money, not spend it!
Don’t get me wrong: The workshop was well worth it (TBH, her content always is).
But I understand, firsthand, how it sucks to have to pay a chunk of money for something, especially when you’re trying to make money because you’re low on money, and especially when you don’t know ahead of time if it’ll be worth it.
And yet, I still highly recommend going for it.

Anggun Bawi, a freelance writer, reached out to me wanting a coaching session over email a while back.* She recently reached out again, wanting another session and to leave me a review (how kind!).
I was amazed/proud/thrilled at one particular update she shared: She had made $1000 writing for a publication I suggested and gave her the details for.
Spending $40 to make $1000 doesn’t sound so bad, does it?
Now I can’t guarantee that every client will have this level of success, let alone from only one coaching session. (I wish I could!) In fact, it’s not common. But I share this to illustrate how coaching can be worth it, and how making money as a freelancer is possible.
Again for the people in the back: Coaching can be worth it, and making money as a freelancer is possible.
